Drake Brings Out Jay-Z & Fabolous at NYC Concert
With two scheduled NYC stops, Toronto MC Drake saved the best for last when he took the stage at Radio City Music Hall. After bringing his Light Dreams and Nightmares tour to the Big Apple on Tuesday night (September 28), Drizzy returned in full force yesterday, recruiting such big name collaborators as Fabolous, Trey Songz, Birdman Swizz Beatz and Jay-Z.
The curtain rose at about 9:15 p.m. as Drake’s full-band strummed up the melody to “9 a.m. in Dallas”— a Thank Me Later outtake. Starting out subdued rhyming with his back to the crowd, the Young Money/Cash Money soldier then jumped into an energetic rendition of “Forever” before turning things all the way up with “Up All Night.” The Radio City stage turned particularly festive thanks to the pyrotechnic effects used on “Fireworks” and later again while the MC rocked his single “Over.”
As far as guests go, Mack Maine and opening act Tyga converged on stage to do “Bedrock,” and Birdman strutted out to the tune of “Money To Blow.” Fabolous and Drake seized the opportunity to perform “Throw It In The Bag (Remix)” [watch below] the pair’s lone collaboration and Swizz Beatz came out to do the hook on “Fancy.”
The night’s biggest thrill is when Jay-Z emerged from the back of the stage to spit his verse to Drizzy’s “Light Up” [watch below] and perform his own single “On To The Next One.”

The intent was to capture their very different perspectives on success and wealth and to talk about the social obligations that come with each. They ended up finding out they had more in common than anyone would have expected between a 40-year-old rapper from the Brooklyn projects and the 80-year-old sage of compounded returns. (Forbes)

He was trying to pass the healthcare bill. And if he said that to relate to the room or lighten the room up and the whole mood, then I’d be more than happy to be the butt of all of his jokes if it in the some way helps his overall mission. I’m a soldier of culture. I’m resilient. I’m sure I’ll still beat him in basketball."

It's time to stop f*cking around."

Eminem Had To Learn To Rap Again
Grammy slash Oscar winning rapper Eminem recently talked about how difficult it was during his battle with drugs in the last few years. The Detroit rapper says he had to re-learn how to write and rap after sobering up.
"I had to learn to write and rap again, and I had to do it sober and 100 percent clean. That didn't feel good at first...I mean it in the literal sense. I actually had to learn how to say my lyrics again -- how to phrase them, make them flow, how to use force so they sounded like I meant them. Rapping wasn't like riding a bike. It was [as much] physical as mental. I was relearning basic motor skills. I couldn't control my hand shakes. I'd get in the [recording] booth and tried to rap, and none of it was clever, none was witty and I wasn't saying it right...It was four or five months after I'd been clean when I started to get a glimmer of my writing skills back. I don't remember what song I was working on specifically, but I do remember getting feeling back in the music. I realized I wanted to do this again."
50 Cents Wants A Sit Down With Young Buck
G-Unit leader, 50 Cent, wants a 1-on-1 meeting with ex-G-Unit member Young Buck to talk about the future of the Ten-A-Key rapper. Appearing on Shade45, 50 Cent talked about his relationship with Young Buck and whether or not he is signed to G-Unit still.
"He's actually [still] signed to G-Unit Records," 50 told radio host Angela Yee last night (September 13) from Yankee Stadium. "Well, I think we need to sit-down. [He can't reach me?] If he can reach you, how can't he reach me? If he's trying to reach you, he could, the same way you could reach me. Buck is impulsive. And even when you see his outbursts, his random outbursts, again, you'll see it be quiet, nobody's talking, negative energy going on and then he'll go 'F*ck that, tg his and that, I ain't want no G-Unit reunion! I'm gonna kill' -- he's not gonna do none of that. It's just who he is, he just does that randomly. People wondered why I taped the conversation I did a long time ago and it was an explanation, to explain what I had been going through. That was happening periodically."
Rick Ross Says Slim Thug Beef Is Over
Rick Ross recently talked about his short-lived twitter beef with Texas rapper, Slim Thug. Rick Ross says that he understood Slim Thug thinking his "King Boss" track was a diss but it wasn't and the problem is over.

Just not knowing the dude and made the record and, after the fact, maybe four or five years later, the record leaked. He responded in a way that was totally understandable. What was funny about that situation is that Slim Thug is actually an artist that after I met him, embraced me and showed me the most love. The homie, Slim Thug, and I gotta salute the homie, Trae Tha Truth."

Nicki Minaj Talks Dating Rumors & Romance
Nicki Minaj recently talked about all the dating rumors that surround her and even the romance in her life. During a featuring in the new OUT Magazine, which she covers, Nicki points out her infatuation with getting on people's nerves.
Minaj definitely has a lot to say about the politics of being a woman in the 21st-century music biz. "Everybody knows I can go out and pick a dude and date him," she says. "But I want to do what people think I can't do, which is have the number 1 album in the country and be the first female rapper to sell records like dudes in this day and age." After taking some heat for identifying with one of the best-selling, and most disproportioned, toys in history--she ends phone calls with a screeched "It's Barbie, b*tch!" -- she was accused of being plastic. "It's interesting that people have more negative things to say about me saying 'I'm Barbie' than me saying 'I'm a bad b*tch,' " she says, getting a bit heated. "So you can call yourself a female dog because that's cool in our community. But if you call yourself a Barbie, that's fake." The criticism didn't just irk her; it inspired her. "Once I figure something is irritating people, I'm going to do it more," she says, smiling, "because I like to get on your nerves until you realize how fucking stupid you are."

Good night, shout-out to my man Kanye [West] too. She's an eight. [Rihanna], she's about a five. That ain't my type. [Kelly Rowland], I don't know, she fine man. She about nine and a half, she'll get the other half when I see her again. She turned up. [Gabrelle Union], sorry [Dwayne] Wade, she's turned up. She is fine. What's happening? 10.
